All feeds are official public data services (no web scraping). A red dot means the latest fetch failed; the app keeps showing the last good copy for up to 30 minutes and flags it.

How the numbers are made

• Aurora chance nowNOAA OVATION 30-minute nowcast at your location (and up to 4° poleward for the horizon view).
• Next hour / 24-hour chartNOAA 3-day Kp forecast converted to a chance from your corrected geomagnetic latitude (AACGM-v2 reference table; Bray is about 49.5°); the next-hour value is nudged by the solar-wind (Bz) trend. Rough estimate.
• Chance of seeing itAurora chance × clear sky (Open-Meteo cloud cover) × darkness (sun at least 6° below the horizon, full at 12°).
• Storm levelNOAA G-scale from Kp (G1 = Kp 5 … G5 = Kp 9). Live Kp is NOAA's 1-minute estimate, with GFZ as backup.
